#6: Paul Revere’s Forensic Dental Expertise
The midnight ride is the famous part, of course, but the workbench tells another story. In colonial Boston, dentistry was one of Paul Revere’s trades, and he made dental prosthetics for clients, including Dr. Joseph Warren. After Warren was killed at Bunker Hill, his remains were later identified in part through dental work Revere recognized. That moment is often cited as an early case in American forensic dentistry. The detail feels almost startling because it brings a patriotic icon back down to the level of tools, wire, ivory, and practical skill.
