#6: Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs was born in San Francisco in 1955 to a graduate student who put him up for adoption. Paul and Clara Jobs, a machinist and a payroll clerk, adopted him. They were a working-class couple who made sacrifices to send him to college, a path he famously abandoned after just one semester. Jobs always considered Paul and Clara his true parents, the ones who shaped him. In a twist, he was reunited with his biological sister, author Mona Simpson, as an adult, adding another chapter to his complex family story.
