#3: Butch Cassidy
Born Robert LeRoy Parker in Utah, Butch Cassidy later led a highly organized group of train robbers called the Wild Bunch. He operated in Wyoming and Colorado during the late 1890s, using clever planning to avoid violence during his heists. The public admired his sharp wit and his ability to evade the Pinkerton detective agency. To escape federal pressure, he traveled to South America in 1901. Bolivian soldiers reportedly trapped and killed him during a shootout in 1908.
