#7: Pretty Boy Floyd
Charles “Pretty Boy” Floyd, known for his sharp style and youthful looks, became an unlikely folk hero during the early 1930s. Born in Oklahoma, Floyd’s bank-robbing career took off as he targeted financial institutions and won the loyalty of struggling farmers by sharing stolen cash and destroying mortgage records. His Robin Hood reputation kept locals tight-lipped when authorities came searching. Despite years on the run, his luck ran out in 1934 when federal agents caught up with him on an Ohio farm and shot him after a brief chase, ending his legendary run.
