Claymation raisins singing Motown classics shouldn’t have worked—but in the ’80s, it became a phenomenon. “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” turned dried fruit into pop culture stars, spawning toys, albums, and lunchboxes. The ad was so beloved it became bigger than the product itself, remembered fondly even as the Raisins faded away.
