#15: Sinking Ships Do Not Drag Everything Down – Pirates of the Caribean
Another dramatic image shows sinking ships creating whirlpools strong enough to pull people under. In reality, while there can be turbulence, it is usually not powerful enough to drag someone down at a distance. Survivors have often remained close to sinking vessels without being pulled under. The danger lies more in debris and cold water than suction.
