People in ancient times didn’t often use children as sacrifices to their gods. Llamas were often sacrificed to secure a good crop. They would position the llama’s head to the east on the altar. The llama would be cut down and its organs removed while it was still alive.
In times of crisis, the Incas would only offer sacrifices of children, such as a natural disaster or a poor crop. Meanwhile, how did the llamas choose which youngster to sacrifice?
