#5: Miniature jukeboxes located in diner booths
Some diners offered a small jukebox right at each booth, allowing customers to select songs while they ate. Dropping a coin and hearing your song play created a sense of ownership over the space. It gave ordinary meals a personal soundtrack. Digital streaming and shifting dining habits made this novelty fade away.
