Historic Native American cliff dwellings are vulnerable to even minor interference. Tourists have been caught removing bricks as keepsakes, unaware of the cultural and archaeological damage. Each piece contributes to the structural integrity and story of the site. Once disturbed, the original craftsmanship cannot be restored.
