#12: The Population
Building Stonehenge would have required many people, but the exact number is debated. Moving, shaping, raising, and aligning huge stones demanded organized labor, food supply, planning, and shared purpose. The monument tells us less about one genius architect than about a society capable of mobilizing people across time. It was not just “some strong guys with ropes.” It was logistics, belief, leadership, engineering, and probably a lot of tired people wishing the stones were smaller.
