#15: Gold Coast Airport Adds Another Layer
An airport positioned this close to a time-zone boundary could hardly avoid becoming part of the story. Gold Coast Airport is in Queensland and operates on Queensland time, even though its southern end sits very close to the New South Wales border, and many passengers travel to it from the Tweed region. During daylight saving, somebody leaving a Tweed Heads hotel at 7 a.m. NSW time is heading toward an airport where the clocks still say 6 a.m.
