#5: Broadcast Television and Live Sports Schedules
A live game provides one of the easiest ways to understand the difference. Suppose a match begins at 7:30 p.m. daylight-saving time in New South Wales. Someone watching at the same instant in Queensland can quite correctly call it a 6:30 start. Nobody is seeing the future, and nobody is an hour behind the action; the labels on the clocks simply disagree. Television schedules have long made Australians conscious of such differences, particularly when programs are promoted nationally.
