#2: Great Smoky Mountains: The Disappearance of Dennis Martin
In June 1969, a game of hide-and-seek led to one of the most famous disappearances in national park history. Six-year-old Dennis Martin stepped behind a bush in the Great Smoky Mountains to hide but vanished without a trace. His loss triggered the largest search-and-rescue operation in military and FBI history, involving hundreds of volunteers and elite Green Berets. Despite all efforts, no sign of Dennis was ever found.
