There are many benefits to seeing a therapist. Many people suffer from varying degrees of anxiety and depression and talking to a third party person about your issues can have a truly positive effect on your relationships and on your life in general.
But just because they give you advice, doesn’t mean that you have to take everything they say literally. Having someone break up with you because their therapist told them to kind of raises a few red flags around independence and free thought anyway. So good riddance and have a nice life!
