#11: The Alcatraz Prison Escape
Just like in the movies, there are people in real life that have attempted to escape prison. And whilst their attempts might not be nearly as successful as the ones we see in the movies, some have puzzled society still to this day. Three men, Frank Morris and brothers John and Clarence Algin, devised a plan to escape the highly guarded and very deserted prison by digging their way out. The three men spent six months carving through their adjacent cells with utensils from the dining hall.
The three men made a makeshift raft that police later found in pieces floating in the San Francisco bay, along with a wallet that they believed belonged to one of the escapees. Due to this discovery, the authorities presumed that the men most likely died on their trip over from the prison. But considering that their bodies were never recovered, many believe that the three men survived the escape and are living in Florida or South America…
