#3: Wych Elm
Why is it that whenever something creepy happens, it always involves random people finding clues to big unsolved mysteries? Whilst it might be interesting for some kids to stumble across a big piece of evidence, it isn’t every child’s dream… Well, in April 1943, four boys in Worcestershire, England, came across a human skull in a hollow tree trunk.
After an investigation, the police could not identify the person to whom the skull belonged. However, a year after the discovery, graffiti was found throughout the area stating, “Who put Bella down the Wych Elm?”… From there on out, the deceased became known as Bella. No one ever cracked the case, leaving many to believe that she was murdered by a lover or used as a cult sacrifice.
