#33: The Murder of the Miyazawa Family
No one ever thinks that anything bad can ever happen in the suburbs, but that isn’t always true. Whilst everyone else was out celebrating New Years’ Eve on December 30, 2000, the Miyazawa family of Tokyo were found dead in their home. Mikio Miyazawa and Yazuko Miyazawa and their 2 children were found in their home in the suburbs of Tokyo. This murder case is the only one like it in the history of Japan’s cold cases…
After carrying out an investigation, the authorities were surprised by what they found. After carrying out the murders, the killer stayed in the Miyazawa household for 2 to 10 hours afterward. They used the family computer, ate several ice creams from their freezer, and treated their injuries from the first aid kit. The murderer even used their toilet but didn’t flush after… From all of these clues, the police were able to uncover what the killer ate the day before committing the crime and even obtained their fingerprints, but they didn’t match up with anyone in the system.
