#4: The Library of Alexandria
Whilst it might seem redundant to look into a mystery that dates back to ancient times, it can be just as interesting as looking into a modern-day mystery. How we relate to libraries, books, and information today vastly differs from how people once did. Sure, it is annoying if we lose a book or if one gets ruined, but we know that we can just order another one.
Well, once upon a time, the library of Alexandria in Egypt was one of the most impressive libraries in the world. With written works from places beyond Egypt that travelers brought back, there was a lot to envy… To this day, it is still uncertain how the library was destroyed, but researchers maintain that one way or another, Julius Caesar was responsible.
