#3: Joan I of Navarre – About 1 year old
When King Henry I of Navarre died in 1274, his throne passed to his daughter, Joan. She was only about a year old. Her mother, Blanche of Artois, stepped in to serve as regent, managing the kingdom while Joan was still a toddler. The family had powerful connections, and Joan spent much of her childhood at the French court. This upbringing positioned her for a major role in European politics. At just 11, she married the future Philip IV of France. Joan eventually became Queen of France, but she also ruled her own kingdom of Navarre and the county of Champagne.
