#19: Water Clocks That Told Time in Style
Water clocks, used in Babylon, Egypt, and Persia around the 16th century BC, measured time by the regulated flow of liquid, making them one of the oldest time-measuring devices. They come in two types: outflow, where water drains from a container, and inflow, where water fills a container. Both types have markings to show the passage of time as the water reaches certain levels.
