#11: Segregated Public Spaces
The 1960s were still a dark time of racial inequality. Segregated spaces were still legal and enforced by States, meaning that Black people were prohibited from sharing restrooms, drinking fountains, restaurants, and even the beach with white folks. Thankfully, with the influence of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and other civil rights heroes of the time, segregation was soon abolished.
