#16: Mailing Kids
Le tus make an important distinction here: Kids were no longer being mailed in the 1960s. However, this was a common practice in the earlier part of the 20th century, and tales of its folklore were perpetuated well into the ’60s. In rural areas where adults couldn’t find either the time or the money (usually neither) to travel with their children, physically putting them in the post seemed like the right idea. This wasn’t exactly what we would call a common practice, but it was legal! Did you ever hear about this back in the day?
