#2: No Seatbelts in Cars
It’s strange to think that not only were seatbelts mandatory in the 1960s, many vehicles came out of the factory without them! We surmise that research on crash safety wsan’t as widespread back then, though driving in cars was still a dangerous practice. Almost all of us can remember piling into a friends car without even the thought of safety. It was even common practice for kids to sit on their parents’ laps or to crawl around in the back of the station wagon. Don’t even get us started on the lack of child seats!
