TVs used to be much more expensive in comparison to what you can buy one for today, meaning that most houses only had one. This meant that, for better or for worse, TV time was family time. This togetherness issues a far cry from today’s television social landscape, where streaming services allow kids to skip through the commercials and watch whatever they please, often in the privacy of their own rooms.
