#8: Less is More
Luke realized pretty early on that he would need to make some cutbacks and adapt his plan if he wanted to stay within his $1,500 budget. However, he wasn’t willing to compromise on the integrity and foundation of his creation. Through this understanding, he began adopting the philosophy of minimalism as a concept for his tiny home.
Luke found different ways to make up for everything he wanted for his house without actually paying for them… Not only did this help him save money, but it also allowed him to act in an environmentally conscious way. He took leftover siding from his grandmother’s house and was gifted the front door by his uncle’s friend. “I wanted to have a house without a huge mortgage,” even at 13 years old, Luke knew he didn’t want huge overheads…
