#9: A Dynamite-Filled Car Waited Near JFK — 1960
In December 1960, retired postal worker Richard Pavlick reportedly parked near President-elect John F. Kennedy’s Palm Beach home with dynamite packed into his car. Pavlick intended to ram or detonate the vehicle, but he abandoned the attempt after seeing Kennedy accompanied by Jacqueline and their young children. Authorities arrested him several days later. The plot remained relatively obscure for years, yet it showed that Kennedy faced a catastrophic threat before taking the oath of office.
