Times Americans Proved They Were Clueless

I think we can all attest to the fact that a few things are more frustrating than being corrected (incorrectly) about something that we know a lot about and the other person knows nothing about. I have been corrected on the spelling of my own last name by total strangers on multiple occasions, and it is a unique sort of exasperating.

So if I was Australian and a non-Australian tried to tell me how to spell Sidney, I think I would be very exasperated. I’m baffled by the spelling that they chose, too. Even if you’re not familiar with the city, it’s become a fairly common girl’s name in the US. Apparently, this person had never met a girl named Sydney.
