#32: A Green Christmas
To be fair, I am a grown adult, and I believe a reasonably intelligent one, and I still sometimes have a hard time wrapping my brain around the fact that Christmas in the southern hemisphere is celebrated during a hot time of year. The notion of snow, or at least cool weather, is so deeply ingrained in a lot of people’s conception of Christmas that it’s kind of hard to remember that it’s not like that for everyone.
What I want to know is whether people in the southern hemisphere listen to the song “White Christmas” by Bing Crosby, or whether they have alternative songs about the joys of surfing or barbecuing on Christmas Day.
