#7: Political Power
So there are a lot of places in the world where you can rest comfortably in the knowledge that the political decisions that you make and the leaders that you elect probably won’t have a massive effect on other parts of the world. If you make a terrible mistake, elections-wise, it may not have too wide an impact.
However, that is not so much the case in America. For better or for worse, America is a major global power, so the things that we do can affect other countries. And that means that the leaders that we elect—specifically the president that we elect—matter. It’s no wonder so many other countries have strong opinions on US politics.
