#3: Inspector Gadget (1999)
Disney attempted to bring Inspector Gadget to the big screen in July 1999 with Matthew Broderick in the leading role. The live-action adaptation quickly discarded the mysterious tone and dry wit of the original animated series. Instead, the writers loaded the film with excessive slapstick comedy, bathroom humor, and talking car gags. Likewise, fans were deeply disappointed that the iconic villain, Dr. Claw, revealed his face immediately instead of remaining hidden in the shadows.
