#9: Fat Albert (2004)
Director Joel Zwick attempted to modernize the classic 1970s educational animated series, Fat Albert, in December 2004 by pulling the characters out of a television set into modern-day Philadelphia. Kenan Thompson took on the role of the titular character. The film lacked the genuine social commentary and musical charm that made the original show a staple for a generation of viewers. The fish-out-of-water gags felt incredibly dated, turning a beloved cultural touchstone into a generic teen comedy.
