Times musicians fought against record labels

The Dixie Chicks had an 11-month fight with Sony that began in 2001 over unpaid royalties. The group accused the company of withholding around $4 million from their early successful albums. The disagreement eventually ended with a new contract that included a $20 million bonus, giving the trio a stronger deal with the label.
