#8: Christine Chubbuck Passing Away
On July 15, 1974, Florida news presenter Christine Chubbuck was presenting her program when she shot herself on camera. The director quickly cut the broadcast, but viewers had already witnessed what happened. Chubbuck passed away in hospital later that day, becoming the first person known to take their own life on live television.
