Fierce Ally McBeal is a female lawyer thrown into a man’s world. In Ally McBeal, the five-season dramedy, the legal system is a place to be conquered. Ally makes this point in a series of fantasy sequences where she is able to freely speak her mind.
Although that’s the plot of the show, it’s also a big reason why it has aged so poorly. The entire show is centered around the idea that a woman has to deal with the misogynistic nonsense of men to exist in the world. I know it was the ‘90s, but come on.
