#9: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Many will consider this entry blasphemous. Buffy the Vampire Slayer has a huge following even today, almost thirty years after its release. Even so, the supernatural teen drama about a vampire/monster slayer named Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) is a product of its time.
Although some of the dialogue is cringy at best, it seems the biggest issue fans have with the show is related to its casting. There was only one recurring African American character in the show, Kendra, who was removed from the show after two seasons. So, for the last five seasons of the show, there were no recurring non-white characters. Sure, ‘90s and early 2000’s shows weren’t diverse, but this was a particularly egregious storyline issue.
