#3: The Abbott and Costello Show, 1952
Starring the comedy duo Bud Abbott and Lou Costello, The Abbott and Costello Show ran from 1952 to 1954 for two seasons and a total of 52 episodes. While younger generations may not have heard of it, this show largely paved the way for many comedy shows to come and is considered one of the most influential comedy shows in TV history.

Jerry Seinfeld has even cited the show as the inspiration for this popular, long-running 90s sitcom Seinfeld, which focuses on life’s ridiculous moments rather than big breaks and more serious themes.
