#30: Abraham Lincoln
When it comes to presidents of the United States, you can’t get through a conversation without mentioning the one and only Abraham Lincoln. The 16th president of the United States was pivotal in issuing the Emancipation Proclamation, which freed slaves forever from within the Confederacy.
Even though he worked hard to be a man of the people, Abraham Lincoln abstained from smoking, drinking, and even chewing tobacco. However, before he was president, he ran a general store that sold whiskey but was in no way a “saloon.” His political opponents constantly tried to undermine this part of his past, but he always maintained his innocence.
