#21: John Tyler
The first vice president to come into the role after the death of a president was John Tyler, who became the 10th president of the United States from 1841-1845. Being one of the few presidents who sided and served in the Confederacy, John Tyler is most well known for the annexation of Texas. A little side note… He had 15 children!
Being the southern man that he was, Tyler always had two barrels of whiskey on hand, which he claimed were to only serve his guests… However, he had mentioned many times that he was a fan of champagne. He allegedly threw a party when he left office and allowed his friends to raid the White House cellar.
