Known today as the father of the Constitution, after writing the Federalist Papers with Alexander Hamilton, the 4th president of the United States, James Madison, served as president of the U.S. from 1809-1817. Sure, times were different back in the early 1800s, but nothing stopped James Madison from getting down.
James Madison’s wife, Dolley Madison, hosted parties at the White House every week over an eight-year period for hundreds of people. Otherwise known as “Mrs. Madion’s Wednesday Nights,” Dolley was the life of the party, which ultimately made James the life of the party as well. Who knew people had this much fun in the 1800s…
