The Giant Woolly Mammoth.
The woolly mammoth is one of the more common ice discoveries by scientists. In places like Alaska and Siberia, this prehistoric woolly beast roamed the lands of the Arctic. Siberian scientists recently unearthed a mammoth specimen from an ice tomb. An age of 39,000 years was determined by radiocarbon dating.
As a result, scientists consider this specimen to be one of the most perfectly preserved ever. And where did the researchers discover it? There is an entire archipelago in northern Russia called the Novosibirsk Islands. The discovery of a fossil with intact blood and muscle tissue has scientists salivating at the prospect of cloning.
