#6: German Shepherds Are Defined by Responsibility, Not Violence
German Shepherds have become one of the world’s most recognizable working dogs thanks to their widespread use in police departments, military units, and search-and-rescue organizations. Their intelligence, confidence, and willingness to learn make them exceptionally capable partners in demanding environments. Because the public most often sees them performing protective duties, some mistakenly associate the breed primarily with aggression. In family homes, however, well-trained German Shepherds are typically affectionate, obedient, and eager to please. Their behavior depends heavily on exercise, mental stimulation, and responsible guidance. Without those outlets, even highly intelligent dogs can develop unwanted behaviors.
