Objects in Camera Are Closer Than They Appear
When backing up, a backup camera or rear-view camera helps you check what’s going on behind your vehicle. It should provide greater perspective than simply turning your head can give. Many people, however, are reluctant to rely on it (not just your dad!).
It’s natural to avoid looking at the camera, but people tend to trust their eyes more than a camera. Old patterns are difficult to break, as they say. And, as one user pointed out: I always do this because if I used the camera for backing into a space in driving school, the instructor would scold me.
