Billy Boys
Around the 1960s, tea drinkers relied on “Billy Boys,” usually young men, to make and deliver their hot drink themselves. These men concentrated only on producing tea, often spending years in training.
The art of tea making was a specialty of the Billy Boys, and they knew it all by heart. Their old names may no longer refer to them, but if you think about it, your neighborhood cafés and baristas are still engaged in this profession!
