Typists
In the 1940s, this job was all the rage. They were comparable to professional typists in later years, but rather than using keyboards; they employed typewriters. This heavy equipment made it much more difficult and time-consuming to transcribe hundreds of millions of words each day.
The money was excellent since this work had a lot of demand. This area was also dominated mainly by women. Even if the typewriters they used have become obsolete, this job persists today.
