You’ll be thankful you weren’t alive in the nineteenth century when you hear about this macabre career. Students of medicine at the time had to practice on corpses, which is where the resurrectionists entered the picture. They helped students acquire bodies by digging up their graves.
It is impossible to determine why this profession vanished, but we can infer that the company fell out of practice for moral reasons. We’re glad we weren’t alive during this period when it was the typical procedure.
