If you’ve seen Disney’s current classic film Frozen, you probably know something about this job. In the 1800s, professional ice cutters had a prosperous business. They made their money by cutting ice, which sounds much easier than it is.
During harsh weather, ice-men assisted individuals in preserving their food securely, from hand-carving enormous ice blocks to transporting the ice to customers. However, this hard work rapidly went out of fashion once refrigerators became popular.
