Barber Surgeon
Today, both of these professions still exist, but they are now kept separate. However, in the Middle Ages, many individuals who specialized in cutting hair also performed medical procedures. Many individuals who practiced medicine in the Middle Ages were barbers.
During World War I, barbers who worked as surgeons on the front line alternated between providing haircuts and amputating limbs of the wounded. Nowadays, most people work either one or the other.
