Michigan – Another Politician
Because of the absence of photographs at that time, it’s no surprise that most of the photos from the 1840s and 1850s are of political figures. Another photo of a politician is included in the oldest photograph from Michigan state; however, he is somewhat of a forgotten figure.
In Michigan, John Fitzgerald became a lawyer who later turned into a lighthouse keeper for a while. He was put in the Senate in 1848; however, he only stayed in office for a few months.
