New Hampshire – A Consequential Politician
Another US political figure was Levi Woodbury. This photo of him as a senator for New Hampshire was taken in 1844 while he filled in for another politician. Woodbury held several posts in the political arena, including that of Senator.
He was a Secretary of the Treasury, a Governor, and a Secretary of the Navy during his career. His name lives on in history to this day because he served in each of the three branches of the US government. His entire name can still be found in towns and ships all over the country today since he was one of America’s few persons to have worked in every one of them throughout his life.
