New York – The Hudson River
With so many antique photographs of wars and conflicts, viewing this ancient city photo of New York is almost like being reborn. Today’s New Yorkers, presumably, had a tough time comprehending that the city looked similar to this in the past.
The Hudson River, known as “Indian Glen,” was photographed by William England. The photograph was initially high contrast in black and white but has been colorized with special methods and technological improvements since then. The river meanders along the eastern edge of New York, bounded on the south by New Jersey.
